More About Podge
Get to know more about who we are.
Podge originally hails from the greater Philadelphia area, where he got his start as a professional jazz bass player. He has backed local Philly artists and played for off-Broadway theater productions. Most notably, he accompanied Tony Award winner Marissa Jaret Winokur in one of her early performances. He would go on to perform a wide variety of musical styles including rock, country, folk, gospel, Americana, and big band.
Podge has also played with several notable artists, including trumpeter Endre Rice of the Count Basie Orchestra, and the Carolina band Silers Bald on an impromptu reunion. As a sound engineer, Podge has mixed for artists including Aaron Shust, Randy Stonehill, and Sean Curran. He has engineering and producing credits to his name and has worked promoting shows for artists including THIRD DAY, All Sons & Daughters, and Gungor. He currently plays in the California band PBnJ.
At a young age, Podge was called to church music ministry and began leading worship in the mid 90’s. Music was always an active part of his life, but he also pursued a career in construction, eventually leading him to become part owner of a small contracting firm in the northeast.

After suffering a minor back injury, Podge decided to change gears professionally. With his wife April, he moved to Toccoa Falls College in northeast Georgia, where he studied music formally. While at TFC, he held several positions with local churches, ranging from Technical Director to Pastor of Worship, but it was through his position at the college that he developed a love of teaching and investing in the next generation of worship leaders.
Podge eventually accepted the position as the Director of Creative Arts and began to oversee TFC’s Performing Arts Center, where he trained and mentored young men and women to become effective leaders, both in and out of the church.
In late 2015, Podge and his wife April relocated to California’s Central Coast to accept positions at Atascadero Bible Church, Life Community Church, and Visible Music College. Podge currently serves on the leadership team at Maverick Church. In his past time, Podge enjoys off-roading in his Jeep, playing music, Call of Duty, and spending quiet evenings at home with his wife and dog Waylon.
